At Giants Ridge you're in the heart of Minnesota Nordic skiing where pine trees tower overhead and the landscape is a gorgeous, smooth white of a Northwoods Minnesota winter. All you'll hear is your own footsteps or the sound of your skis on our perfectly groomed trails.

We've got 60 kilometers of scenic well-groomed Nordic trails that weave through the Superior National Forest at Giants Ridge. This system was initially developed for intensive training by the US Ski Team and presents long, gradual grades, spectacular vistas, roller coaster rides and a variety of challenge for beginners through accomplished skiers. Three kilometers of Nordic skiing are lit for night skiing, and numerous trails are accessible by chairlift at the top of the mountain.

The variety of Nordic trails at Giants Ridge are designed for all ability levels of skiers - some trails challenge the most serious skier, while others are perfect for those new to the sport. Almost all the trails are cleared to 20 feet wide with a groomed surface of 18 feet. Most trails are groomed with classical tracks on the sides and a skating lane in the center.
