More than 2,000 miles of scenic, groomed trails await you in northeastern Minnesota snowmobile country. The best part? The well-marked trail system winds its way through the breathtaking scenery of northeastern Minnesota's Iron Trail. The pristine Superior National Forest encompasses this extensive trail system. Combined with over 100 inches of natural snowfall each year, these trails have direct access to lodging, fuel, dining and entertainment, making northeastern Minnesota a snowmobiler's paradise.

The City of Biwabik, located just five minutes from Giants Ridge, has a winter sliding hill and ice skating rink open to the public:
  • Thursday & Friday, 4 - 8 p.m.
  • Saturday & Sunday, 12 - 7 pm

Ice Fishing

While you're visiting Giants Ridge, be sure to take advantage of the spectacular ice fishing found in northeastern Minnesota. With an abundance of lakes and rivers, the region is well known for its spectacular ice fishing. Reel-in bass, trout, walleye, northern pike, crappie, sunfish and more from one of the nearby abandoned mine-pit lakes, Wynne or Sabin Lakes or make the trip to nearby Lake Vermilion.

Iron Range
