Opening Weekend!

Our Crews have been working towards this weekend since we closed the ski hill!  It’s amazing what it takes to switch over between the two seasons!  Lift Maintenance has performed all the “off-season” maintenance that is required to get the chair ready for summer operations and the bike racks have been re-installed.  Sales staff has gotten the gift shop set up with new Fox gear.  Bike Patrol has been honing their skills, checking on extraction routes, and double checking signage.  Rental staff has been tuning up the fleet to get prepared for the season.  And of course the GR Bike Park Trail Crew has been working their tails off to make sure that all of our trails are in tip top shape for you to shred!  I think everyone who comes to visit will be stoked to see all the hard work that they put into getting ready for opening weekend!

In addition to the well maintained trails that you know and love, we are excited to be opening our newest Gravity Freeride trail, Featherlys.  This trail was completed last fall, but never firmed up enough to be opened.  It faired through the winter well, and got a little refresh by the crew and it is ready to go!  Just be prepared, it is rather fast!  This trail will help fill the gap we had before of good blue trail!

We are also stoked to officially open our North Cross Country Trails which were built last fall as well.  These are built in the Superior National Forrest and really add a fun dynamic to biking at the Ridge!  We have them all signed and ready to go, although the only thing missing is names.  For now we have them marked with letters, and we are hoping that all of our loyal bike park fans will help us name them this summer.  Stay tuned for more details to come on that!  Check out our new trail map here.

Overall we think it will be a great weekend of riding with the cooler temps and abnormally dry conditions we hope to see everyone out getting in some laps this weekend!  Please be cautious and respectful as we are all still getting our gravity legs under us.  There is lots of season to be had for everyone, and we would hate to see anyone get hurt opening weekend, so be sure to pre-ride, re-ride, and then free-ride!

See you on the trails
