Scenic Chairlift Rides

Beautiful Views

The “Sarajevo Express” chairlift (a high-speed quad lift), transports guests to the top of the Giants Ridge mountain where they may enjoy majestic views of the Superior National Forest and surrounding area. The view from the Giants Ridge mountain is truly one of the Iron Range’s hidden gems and creates a whole new Giants Ridge experience for guests.

From the top of the chairlift, guests have access to:

  • Ridgeview Overlook Walking Trail (0.3 miles)
  • Wynne Lake Vista Trail (0.8 miles)

All scenic chairlift participants must sign an waiver in person. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian complete the waiver for them.

Scenic Chairlift Rides are available until one hour prior to the Lift Closing

Tickets can be purchased in the Mountain Sports Shop located on the 1st floor of the Main Chalet.

Chairlift Safety & Instructional Information

For Your Safety:

  • If unfamiliar with use of chairlift, please ask operator for instructions.
  • This is a moving chairlift – the lift will not stop for loading/unloading unless you specifically ask the operator to stop it or slow it down for you.
  • Children must be at least three years old and 36” high to ride chairlift. Must be able to sit on the chairlift without assistance from parent; children are not allowed to sit in laps.
  • Closed-toed shoes are recommended.
  • Pets and Service Animals are not permitted on chairlift.
  • Beverages prohibited on chairlift.
  • Remove backpacks and hold them in your lap.
  • Giants Ridge Staff will have the final determination on anyone loading the chairlift due to safety concerns.
  • Lift operations may close at any time due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Last ride up 1 hour before closing.
