SAFETY FIRST
When it comes to downhill mountain biking, making sure you are prepared is the best way to ensure an enjoyable experience on the mountain.
Here are a few of our safety tips:
- Ride within your abilities and take your time.
- If you are new to the sport, take a lesson!
- Right hand brake is the rear brake, Left hand brake is the front brake.
- For Maximum stopping power, use both brakes.
- Modulate your breaking power; grab gently and “ease the squeeze” instead of jamming on your brakes.
- Reduce your speed before the corners, avoid aggressively braking once you are in the corner.
- Riders should be constantly scanning the trail – between the “now and next” helps with trail awareness.
- Always Pre-Ride, Re-Ride, then Free-Ride.
