Giants Ridge’s award-winning food and beverage service is bringing a taste of the islands to Northern Minnesota with the 1st Annual Giant Luau on July 18, blending tropical tradition with a full day of mountain adventure.
Guests can enjoy all of the Ridge’s signature summer activities, including lift-served downhill mountain biking, scenic chairlift rides, disc golf, and hiking. For the luau, a sand-filled volleyball court will add a beach-style twist to the day’s offerings.
The evening celebration begins at 6:00 p.m. with a seated luau buffet, priced at $20 per person, featuring Polynesian-inspired favorites such as kalua pig with Hawaiian sweet rolls, huli huli chicken with coconut rice, SPAM musubi with macaroni salad, poke bowls, and a fresh seasonal fruit display. A cash bar will be available. An outdoor hamburger and hot dog bar will also be open.
Live fire dancers will provide an exciting cultural performance, bringing energy and tradition to the mountain setting.
Rooted in Hawaiian culture, luaus have long been gatherings centered on food, community, and celebration. The Giant Luau brings that spirit to the Iron Range, creating a unique experience where the atmosphere of the Pacific meets the landscape of northern Minnesota.
