GRIND Mountain Bike Race

LONG GRIND

The Long GRIND (35 miles) mountain bike race course utilizes the most scenic and challenging terrain in Minnesota’s Iron Range. Expect extremely tough climbs, fast descents, varied terrain with rocks, roots, creeks and plenty of passing opportunities.


Race categories are broken down by bike type: Fat Tire, Single Speed, Mountain Bike, Age: Under 30, 30-50, 50+, and by Gender: Male or Female.




Course Route

SHORT GRIND

The Short GRIND (19 miles) mountain bike course shares the first 17 miles of the Long GRIND course. This race will test your skills as you wind through cross country trails, snowmobile/ATV trails, and rugged mining roads. Whether you’re a first timer, a weekend warrior, or a pro racer, you can count on having an amazing experience.


Race categories are broken down by bike type: Fat Tire, Single Speed, Mountain Bike, Age: Under 30, 30-50, 50+, and by Gender: Male or Female.




Course Route

JUNIOR GRIND

The Junior GRIND is an exciting mountain bike race specifically designed for high school students. This race is aimed at providing young riders with a pre-season race to the Minnesota Cycling Associate High School Racing Series.


MINERS & MINI MINERS RACE

Mini Miners Race

This .5 mile race is for young riders 0-6 years old and is FREE!



Miners Race

This 1 mile race is for riders 7-12 and will be FREE!

The GRIND Mountain Bike Race is a weekend adventure for the whole family! Beyond the action on the race course, there’s a plethora of activities that will keep everyone entertained.

  • 7:00-8:30am Packet Pickup
  • 9:00am Long GRIND Start
  • 9:10am Short GRIND Start
  • 1:00 Junior GRIND Start
  • 1:05 Miners Start
  • 1:07 Mini Miner’s start
  • 2:00pm Awards Ceremony – Chalet Patio
  • 2:00PM – 6:00pm Downhill bike park open
