Press Release Operation Update 1/8/2024

Date: January 8, 2024
Category: Benji's Blog Blog

For Immediate Release

Giants Ridge will suspend operations Tuesday and Wednesday January 16th and 17th , 2024.  Due to this year’s difficult weather conditions it is necessary to enhance our snow base in key areas, where the Mountain Operations team is unable to make snow while open to our guests.

In late December Giants Ridge received over 2” of rain, this significantly impacted our snow base.  We were fortunate that we had enough base to continue to operate, however our beginner area, base area, and several key runs do not have enough base to allow us to operate for our planned season.  In an effort to ensure we are able to operate as planned, our snowmaking crews will refresh these critical areas.

Giants Ridge intends to resume normal operations on Thursday the 18th.  We apologize for the inconvenience, but we know this short term period of snowmaking will provide better conditions for the remainder of the season.

We would like to thank all of our guests for their continued understanding and support through this weather challenged season.
