Cowboy Angel Blue
Bill Maxwell and James Paavala are the founding members of the amplified acoustic group Cowboy Angel Blue. Based in northern Minnesota, the band has been performing throughout the Iron Range and Duluth area for more than a decade. When available, Mid-America Music Hall of Fame member Billy Bulinski joins the group on lead guitar and bass. Cowboy Angel Blue draws from the songwriting traditions of Dylan, Young, Cash, Prine, Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle, Buddy Holly, and Merle Haggard, among others. Their setlists range from attentive listening music to danceable favorites, always delivered at an appropriate volume with a focus on great songs and strong musicianship.
