Operations Update 6/20/24

Date: June 20, 2024
Category: Benji's Blog Blog

On June 18th Giants Ridge was impacted by a large rain event.  This has had several impacts to the recreation area as our crews work to recover from the storm.

Golf:

The Quarry Golf Course remains open and in great condition and is operating as normal.

The Legend Golf Course has temporarily suspended operation and will reopen tomorrow, Friday, with play on the front 9 holes.  The course itself remains in excellent condition thanks to the hard work of the golf crews, however a few sections of golf car paths have been impacted by rising waters on Wynne Creek and remain impassable.

For specific golf information contact the pro shop at 218-865-8030.

Summer Adventure:

All Mountain Bike Operations are suspended.  The bike park and scenic chairlift rides will be closed 6/22 & 6/23.

The Mountain Sports School is reaching out to Bike Camp participants and rescheduling participants.

Crews are still assessing the impact to the mountain bike trail system.  At this time a re-opening date has not been established.

The Mountain Sports (Gift) Shop will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 6/21, 6/22 & 6/23, 9am to 5pm.

The Rental Shop will be closed until trail conditions improve both on the Mesabi Trail and the Giants Ridge Bike Park.

The Climbing wall will be closed 6/20 through 6/23.

All hiking trails are closed for repair.

Disc Golf remains closed for the summer due to snowmaking system upgrades on the mountain.

Food and Beverage:

The Wacootah Grill is operating as normal.

The Burnt Onion Kitchen and Brews is closed 6/20 and will re-open once the water supply has been approved by the City of Biwabik.

The Bunkers Grill will re-open when the Legend Golf Course resumes operation tomorrow.

Red Cross:

The Red Cross is in the Giants Ridge parking lot distributing water bottles to those residents effected by the current boil water order. They are scheduled to be here today 11am-7pm and tomorrow 12pm-5pm.

Thank you for being a part of the Giants Ridge community.
