Construction Update 10-3-24
Dry Weather has been our BEST FRIEND…
This dry weather has been our best friend in an effort to complete our waterline infrastructure project!
Pipe & Wire:
Crews are working this week to finish the last of the pipe and cable installation on the Northface ski runs.
By October 4th, the installation of all the pipe and wire across the entire mountain should be complete!
Snowmaking Machines:
If you have visited the facility in the last few weeks you probably notice that we have snowmaking machines. Lots of snowmaking machines! The installation of the 74 automated tower snowmaking machines will also be completed by October 4th! These automated tower snowmaking machines will allow us to take advantage of shorter snowmaking windows, by automatically starting up and shutting down when conditions are conducive for snowmaking operations.
Future:
Crews will spend the remainder of October tying up loose ends and cleaning up after a long summer of construction activities on the mountain. We will also test snowmaking equipment and waterlines this month to ensure the system is ready to go for November.
This system will make our snowmaking operations more efficient, essentially cutting the time it takes to make snow across the entire mountain in half! Our goal with this installation is to get more terrain open early season so our guests can spend more time on the slopes. As always we do rely on mother nature to come through for us at the end of the day and provide temperatures conducive to snowmaking. Even with this new high powered system we will still need temperatures to drop below 28 degrees in order to fire the guns. Once we are able to get up and running we will be able to cover a lot more ground than we could in the past. Snowmaking season is right around the corner and we are stoked to get this system up and running so we can get our guests back out on the snow!
