Is Giants Ridge still open?
Do you have snow? Is Giants Ridge still open?
Heck yes we do, and heck yes we are! Our mountain operations team worked really hard throughout the winter to ensure that we have the great base that we are still enjoying today. As we sit here in the second full week of March we are 100% open, with great spring conditions. We know it doesn’t feel like winter in your back yard, but it is still winter in ours!
Spring Carnival
Saturday the 16th is our annual spring carnival. It is always one of the most fun days of the year! This year the theme is the Wild Wild West. We will again be featuring the Damage rail jam in the Tubing park, the costume contest, and of course the Slush Cup. Pre-registration is required for the Slush cup and Damage rail jam. Slush cup registration is almost full, so if you are on the fence, the time is now (or depending on when you are reading this, the time has passed). We will not allow any day of registrations for slush cup this year, so plan ahead! Check out the spring carnival page for all the times and details.
In addition to Spring carnival Giants Ridge is also hosting a US Ski and Snowboard race that had to be canceled due to lack of snow at other venues. We are excited to have a busy weekend at Giants Ridge next week.
Spring Season Pass sale
If you haven’t heard, spring season passes are on sale. Please remember, this is the best time of the year to buy your pass. Prices will go up in the fall, plus we also have payment plans available through the summer, if you would prefer to spread the cost out. Also the cheapest way to buy the mountain bike pass is to add it on to your spring season pass, so don’t miss out.
Closing day?
Right now we are still planning to stay open until April 7th and we are fairly confident in that, however we all know that Mother Nature has the final say so we will have to wait until we get a little closer to that day to know for sure.
In the meantime, there is a lot of great spring skiing left, so come on out and enjoy the great conditions!
