Alright Folks….

It’s the moment we’ve been wondering about…When will the mountain bike park open??? We are planning to open Mountain Bike and Summer Adventure operations on Friday, May 26th.

Our Memorial Day Weekend hours are:

*Weather Dependent*
Fri – Sunday 10am – 6pm
Monday 10am to 5pm

Trail Update

We are planning to have the Ribbits, Tadpole, Leapfrog, and Sector 12 open.  Depending on how the weather goes next week, we may try to add a 5th trail, but it is still too soon to tell.  What will the 5th trail be?  Well, we still have to hold something up our sleeves! 😊 Stay tuned next week!

Our Trails crews have been working hard the last few weeks getting those trails spruced up for opening weekend, and their work is definitely paying off.  We often have berms that slump during the winter and they have reshaped and repacked them.  Fixed numerus washout, and attended to other various issues on the trails.  There is a ton of work that goes into getting the trails up and running each year.  The pictures below show the crews working on what we call “steep landing” on Sector 12.

Summer Recreation

Our rental shop staff has been working hard on getting all the bikes tuned up for the summer, be sure to reserve them online if you don’t have your own bike.  Also, stay tuned for an upcoming sale of some of our rental bikes in June.

In addition to having the mountain bike trails open, we will be opening the rest of our summer adventure operations opening as well.  The Chalet gift shop, rental shop, climbing wall, disc golf course, scenic chairlift rides and hiking trails will all be open.  One of the things we are most excited about is our new and improved hiking trails.  Last fall we had Dirt Candy Designs from Grand Marais come out to revamp, fix, and rebuild the North Face and Sleeping Giant Hiking Trails.  The old versions of these trails had gotten beat up and rerouted as we built out the bike park, so now that the major trail building is done on the mountain, we wanted to take some time and improve the hiking experience.  These two trails are now true hiking trails around the entirety of the mountain, they have some cool rock stairs and other features built into them.  I strongly encourage everyone to get here and check those trails out this summer.  The best place to find maps is the Trail Forks app, as we are still updating our paper hiking maps.

We are excited to welcome everyone back on Memorial Day weekend!  Please be sure to check our social media for any weather-related announcements.

Remember on your first day back behind mountain bike bars, always;
Pre-Ride and Re-Ride before you FREE-Ride!
